本剧描写的是关西的两名高中男生濑户（叶山奖之）与内海（高杉真宙），放学后在河边唠嗑的故事。沉默寡言的内海与善于交往的濑户，两人的性格完全相反，却因为“打发时间”这一点而达成共识。当下午放学后，他们便相约来到河边坐下，海阔天空地闲聊起来。电影中未出现的角色初美、田中君、马场君以及大猩猩老师等原作中的人气角色也将在电视剧中大放异彩。。秦川在女儿车祸死的当天，知道原来老婆顾清歌和自己资助的贫困生陆辰早就勾搭在了一起，并且生了儿子睿睿。而女儿萌萌的车祸还是顾清歌亲手造成，两个人图谋他的财产，也图谋他的肾捐给陆辰这个肾衰竭。从这一天起，秦川也开始了自己的计划。。Framing StoryDr Martin (Robert Powell) arrives at a secluded asylum "for the incurably insane" to be interviewed for a job by the wheelchair-using, authoritarian Dr Lionel Rutherford (Patrick Magee).
