The husband is a chemical engineer| and the smells from his experiments (and the delivery of what appear to be human remains at all hours) are beginning to arouse the attention of neighbors and local law enforcement offici...。本片围绕着一把唐朝贞观年间流传下来的“潺泉”古琴展开。贺文魁曾经是香港丰盛洋行的紫城主管，因为抗战爆发，闲居家中。自称古董商的英杰华慕名前来，想要一睹他珍藏的潺泉古琴，遭到拒绝。原来英杰华是贺家大儿子国荣的同学，又正与小女儿国瑛交往。他们于是拉上老二国辉，想偷得老爷子的古琴换取十万大洋。一场夺琴的争斗正在悄悄上演。国瑛辗转把古琴偷卖给了古董商。没想到那把古琴是假的，真的一直被贺文魁藏在鸡舍中，故称凰宅古琴。而窥视古琴的日本人和奸商都落了个人财两空的下场。。
