当代某军营。一句不经意的传话使新兵张本旺（谢孟伟饰）成了令人刮目相看的人物。得知张本旺和连长刘建锋（樊营饰）有关系，副班长胡成功（孙奇饰）出于本能考虑，处处照顾张本旺。训练骨干郑大勇（张晓夕饰）看不惯连队的歪风邪气，不时恶语相向。其实本旺心里明白，所谓的关系不过是同乡张丽菊（梁丹妮饰）是刘连长的爱人。刘建锋对漫延在连队的不正之风深恶痛绝，他在全连大会上表明了自己的态度。本旺借机向战友们诉说原委，大家恍然大悟。张爱菊探亲来队，本旺接站，按宗祖辈分，本旺是张爱菊的“三爷爷”，同去接站的文书听后目瞪囗呆......。The plot introduces us to a psychologist who suggests to three couples that they engage in a group session, where they will have to analyse each other without her being present.
