四、五十年代，年青的温月庭(陶大宇饰)到星马谋生，与好友仇文杰(方中信饰)和贺志祥(黎耀祥饰)合作做生意，可惜被人骗财弄至血本无归，三人逐决意到香港发展电影事业。庭认识生命中第一个女人-黄盈(张慧仪饰)。庭对盈一见锺情，可惜盈早已为人妻，但两人两情相悦，故决定私奔往香港。 凭著三人的魄力及头脑，令到温氏发展迅速，影片卖过满堂红，制造出一个个出色的明星与导演。温氏电影王国以渐见规模，温氏旗下的红星得罪了探长颜坤，庭向坤的乾女儿雷梦华(刘嘉玲饰)求救，相见後才知原来庭、华两人早已相识，华早在多年前对庭有好感，决定全力帮助庭解决困难。可惜华得悉庭已婚，只好将感情埋藏心底。 窈窕淑女，君子好求，华竟吸引刚从外国学成归来庭的儿子温伟中(林伟饰)，华拒绝了中，中再度离港。华期後被庭罗致旗下，成为得力助手。庭的电影事业正如日中天之际，星马富商洛涛(龙方饰)成立帝国...。After a group of telemarketers get fired by their penny-pinching boss, they take revenge by stealing the company's list of clients to start up their own firm.
