You have to revel in some good...。李红（张曼玉 饰）和丈夫南生（梁家辉 饰）本是生活在广东番禹的一对夫妻，后来在李红的努力下，终于成功申请到了去美国签证，南生则留在国内等待机会。李红到了美国后发生改变，写信告诉丈夫自己想回家。南生一直劝慰鼓励她，直至南生收到那封申请离婚的信，他一方面难以相信，另一方面也担心妻子，遂偷渡到了纽约。南生初到美国，人生地不熟，因为偷渡者的身份更是连同学拒绝收留他。在走投无路之时，南生结识了一位有中国血统的15岁妓女Jane，暂时安顿下来的南生继续寻找妻子。南生渐渐了解了一些关于妻子在美国生活的片段，南生当初的想象一点点被颠覆，本来想帮助妻子的他也快心灰意冷了。突然一天，分别多年的两人竟然偶遇，而一切都已不再如前……。
