1911年，古老的华夏大地迎来了最重要的时刻，辛亥革命掀开了历史的新篇章，然而却有袁世凯（梁冠华饰）倒行逆施，攫取革命胜利果实。为了肃正视听，袁更刺杀了国民党政治领袖宋教仁。随后，袁在二次革命中挫败孙中山和黄兴，终于成为了独掌大权的大总统。 与此同时，为了网络民心，袁世凯宣云南都督蔡锷（王志飞饰）赴京上任。胸怀救国救民理想的蔡锷却未想到自己落入了危机四伏的政治泥潭：袁世凯对其且用且防；段琪瑞（陈逸桓饰）磨刀霍霍、步步紧逼；袁克定（李帅饰）则如幽灵一般监视着他的一举一动。看似若不经风的蔡锷，势将担起拯救中华的重任……。The Moliere players are in their dressing room, getting ready to go on set.
